The Mayor Dinkins Cup is the largest free junior interscholastic tennis competition in the nation, with players from all over New York City representing public, parochial, and private schools. In 2025, we had more than 800 participants from over 200 schools in elementary, middle, and high school divisions representing all five boroughs.
The 2025 NYJTL Mayor Dinkins Cup was Saturday, May 31 – Sunday, June 8 at Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning in the Bronx. The tournament is available to all play levels for New York City students starting in third grade to senior in High School.

Sportsmanship and the USTA Player and Spectator Oath
Sportsmanship and the USTA Player Oath: All participants shall familiarize themselves with The Code which is meant to be a guide to fair play. By participating in the tournament, all players agree to abide by the USTA Player Oath: “I recognize that tennis is a sport that places the responsibility for fair play on me. I promise to abide by the rules of the game, which require me to give the benefit of the doubt to my opponent. At all times I shall strive to compete with the true spirit of sportsmanship, recognizing that my behavior on the court is a direct reflection of my character. Whether my matches end with my victory or defeat, I promise to conduct myself in a way that honors my opponents, those who support me, and the game of tennis.”
Spectator Oath: All tournament guests, including family members, coaches and other spectators, must adhere to the USTA Spectator Oath: “I pledge to set a positive example for players, treat fellow parents, coaches and officials with respect, emphasize the importance of fair play and good sportsmanship, cheer respectfully for winner and good points – not errors and double faults, allow players to work out on-court disputes, and not interfere with matches.”
Players will be asked to confirm they have read and fully understand the above Sportsmanship and USTA Player and Spectator Oath and will abide by these guidelines.
