Summer and Winter Tournament Teams reach out to talented junior players and helps them reach their full potential by providing on and off-court training, uniforms, and NCAA student-athlete scholarship and eligibility counseling.

Players travel to USTA-sanctioned events including Junior Team Tennis Nationals and Empire States Games.

The Community Tennis Program reaches children throughout New York City's five boroughs by supplying trained coaches, tennis instruction, match play, educational services and special events to youth ages 6-18.

Spring, Summer and Fall Community Tennis Programs develop the tennis skills of young children and stress character development and positive life experiences.

Early Morning Winter Community Tennis Programs enable players to continue their progress during the indoor season and includes NYJTL-sponsored events: Hartman Cup Championships, Holiday Tournament, and Presidents' Week Tournament.

The Schoolyard Tennis Program supplies free tennis equipment, teacher training, and ongoing support to schools that include tennis as a regular part of their physical educational curriculum.

In-school programs run during the school year indoors and outdoors and is made possible by the generosity of the WellPoint Foundation.

The annual Spring Kickoff Celebration welcomes the arrival of out-door tennis season and honored Schoolyard Tennis Program Principals of the Year, Teachers of the Year, and the annual recipient of the Changing Lives Award – all who made significant contributions to the growth of New York City tennis.

QuickStart Tennis

QuickStart Tennis is provided at all NYJTL Aces Clubs After-Schools Programs as well as NYJTL Community Tennis Programs and introduced at participating Schoolyard Tennis Program schools.  The United States Tennis Association (USTA) describes QuickStart Tennis as an exciting new play format for learning tennis, designed to bring kids into the game by utilizing specialized equipment, shorter court dimensions and modified scoring, all tailored to age and size.  It is divided into two differnet levels - ages 8 and under and ages 10 and under.
