Forty women tennis fanatics and New York Junior Tennis & Learning supporters played six rounds of round robin matches alternating partners at SPORTIME Randall’s Island on February 7, 2013 to crown the second Diamond Doubles champions and to fundraise for NYJTL.
“We are thrilled to expand our circle of friends,” said NYJTL President & CEO Deborah Antoine, “and we look forward to expanding these playing opportunities with additional events this summer.
“These women are passionate about their tennis and the wellness of their families, which makes them ideal role models for NYJTL,” she continued.
In a 10-point Super Tiebreak, the top four finishers from the round robin competition, Karen Garfield and Jennifer Reiner defeated Carol Hanover and Lee Larizadeh. The winners received beautiful earrings donated by Designs by Donna as well as tennis outfits by L’Etoile. The Finalists also received tennis outfits by L’Etoile.
In addition to highly competitive matches, Diamond Doubles participants enjoyed a beautiful Luncheon and presentation.
